SiloSmashers’ proven approach to developing capacity building programs incorporates industry best practices in developing a needs-based curriculum driven by performance targets and a comprehensive gap analysis.

The process for developing a CP program is broken down into three stages: Inquiry, Gap Analysis and Development.
The key outcome of the Inquiry stage of a capacity building process includes the identification of knowledge, skills sets, competencies and proficiency levels associated with discipline areas targeted for capacity building. The Inquiry uncovers the basis blocks of a capacity building program, which are captured by the following questions:

  • What do employees already know?
  • What do employees need to know?
  • Who needs to know it?
  • How do they learn it?
  • How will information and training be shared?

The Gap Analysis Stage measures the distance between the Already Know and Need to Know, and lays the foundation for developing development goals.
During the Development stage, SiloSmashers produces a plan for developing a capacity building program that provides key resources, tools, training, guidance, policies, and other materials for your workforce, so that it can successfully translate measurable goals and objectives into strategies and actions to achieve its desired level of performance.

Within any capacity-building program approach, we include a knowledge management element that provides a forum for the free exchange of information between staff, employees, stakeholders, management, and potentially industry.
